As a power hungry person he is, K despises friendship as he believed them as weak, especially one's inability to protect another from danger. He also tends to play mind games with his enemies in order to weaken their resolves in a battle against him. He goes as far as to injure one of his rivals for his advantages and kill his own men when he sees fit. Beneath his calm demeanor, however, is a sadistic, vicious, and conniving person who is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve victory. He tends to keep up a confident demeanor around others, especially when confronting enemies on his missions. K is quite a calm and easy-going individual. He is also seen wearing a Unit costume at all times. That's it guys.K possesses short, spiky blond hair and sharp blue eyes, as well has a medium built body figure. So if you like one then you may like the other one too. Other than that there are many scenes where you can see tension among characters. Absolute Duo is more towards magic and supernatural powers and Freezing is more towards sci-fi. While the Action scenes are amazing in both of them, Harem is more in Absolute Duo. In Freezing, the Female fighters known as Pandora can use Stigmata to manifest Superhuman Fighting Skills and Weapons while in Absolute Duo, male and female both known as Blazers can use their Soul Powers to manifest Weapons and Shields. The difference is that Kazuya wanted to become strong and fight the Nova to protect mankind just like his Sister whereas Tooru wanted to become stronger and avenge his sister's death. The Male protagonists in both series have somewhat same situations when they are joining their Respective Academies, in Freezing, Kazuya's elder sister who was a Pandora died while fighting a Nova and in Absolute Duo, Tooru's sister was killed by a mysterious man. That being said, if you like one, you will probably like the other. Personally, I think "Absolute Duo" is better, as it has better animation and music and the characters are more likeable. Lilith=>Riko- Both are cocky, blonde-haired rich girls who wield guns (there are other similarities, but that would be a spoiler). Tomoe=>Shirayuki- Both have long black hair that they keep tied with a ribbon, yamato nadeshiko personalities but also hidden violent sides and wield kusarigamas. Julie=>Aria- Both are very short for their age, dual-wield swords, have upper-class heritage, are driven by familial issues, take an interest in the male lead because of their ability and soon become their partner. Tor=>Kinji- Both have a very tragic past involving the death of a sibling, are weak on their own but have a unique ability to make up for it, are seriously lacking in confidence and soon discover their past has a connection to the heroine's. They have several genres in common (action, ecchi, harem etc.) and a number of characters with similar backgrounds, abilities or personalities: They're both set in psychotic boarding schools where teenagers are trained in combat, but still have to deal with real fights on a regular basis. On the other hand, if you want a more light-hearted series, "Absolute Duo" is the one to go with. I prefer "Guilty Crown", largely thanks to its amazing music and animation and the characters being overall more developed. In both case, the two pairs end up living together via circumstance, and eventually fall in love. Shu and Tor look very much alike, having really similar hairstyles and school uniforms, as well as very similar tragic backstories, and while Inori and Julie couldn't be more different appearance-wise, they DO have very similar personalities, being shy and reserved but also sweet and gentle (and have no problem being half-naked in front of the boys). The two main characters in general are quite similar to one another. The difference is that in "Guilty Crown", only the male lead Shu has this ability, while in "Absolute Duo", all the main characters have it. In both cases, the weapon reflects a certain aspect of their personality. Both of them revolve around the ability to conjure weapons from one's soul, with each one taking a different shape depending on the person.
